LAND SECURITIES APPOINTS NEW LEASING AGENTS FOR MAIDSTONE
Land Securities Group PLC announces that it has appointed Markham Vaughan Gillingham and Cushman & Wakefield as joint agents to spearhead the new leasing campaign for its Fremlin Walk scheme in Maidstone.
Fremlin Walk was acquired by Land Securities in 2006, following completion of the scheme in 2005. It comprises 350,000 sq ft of retail space, anchored by a House of Fraser department store. Existing tenants include Zara, Jane Norman, H&M, Topshop and Next.
The leasing campaign will focus on improving the strong tenant mix, with particular emphasis on fashion retailers to enhance the upmarket brands currently represented in House of Fraser. Additional restaurant tenants are also important to the tenant mix strategy, to create a point of difference for the scheme and Maidstone.
Graeme Stevenson, Portfolio Manager, Land Securities, said: “We are looking forward to working with Markham Vaughan Gillingham and Cushman & Wakefield on this leasing campaign. Our strategy for this scheme is to create an even stronger tenant mix, with an emphasis on improving the restaurant offer. Fremlin Walk is in the heart of Maidstone and we want this to become the retail destination for the area.”
Commenting on the appointment, Woody Bruce, Director, Markham Vaughan Gillingham “We are delighted to be working with Land Securities in establishing a more aspirational and restaurant led tenant mix within the scheme and bringing a point of difference to Maidstone, drawing on our wide experience of similar developments across the UK”
